Isabel Mondavi Chardonnay Napa Valley 2013
Sharply etched in pineapple and Meyer lemon, this wine retains a brightness of fruit and acidity throughout, never overly impeded by oak. A subtle, earthy herbal streak plays in the background.
Kenwood Zinfandel Jack London 2014
This wine is ripe aromas of boysenberries, plum and purple guava combine with aromatic spicy notes of cinnamon cocoa nibs and white pepper. Rich, well-structured tannins provide an elegant mouth feel and a long finish. The wild berry and spice flavors of this rich and elegant Zinfandel are a perfect complement to Braised Beef Short Ribs.
Walt La Brisa Pinot Noir
The WALT "La Brisa" Sonoma County Pinot Noir articulates the signature characters of Sonoma: vibrant and opulent with an underlying brightness and length to the palate. Teeming with ripe red berries and spicy toasted aromas, the wine is lush and persistent on the mid-palate while long-lasting and delicate on the finish.
Luigi Einaudi Dolcetto di Dogliani 2018
In the Dogliani area this traditional wine reaches its maximal typicity, of a ruby red color, which tends toward violet with a rich fruity bouquet, full bodied with an intense aroma of undergrowth and a pleasantly tannic taste, with a slight final almond note, typical of this wine. Eight months of maturation in steel tanks and two months in glass complete the refinement. Of a dry and moderately acidic taste, after a year of ageing, it has a good body and full taste.
Lange Twins Nero D'Avola 2018
Opening with bright aromas of raspberry and spice more dark fruit notes come across the palate and carry through to the finish. The subtle tannin and fruit flavors make this an ideal wine to pair with a variety of foods.
Quinta do Mondego Tinto Red (Dão)
This dark-colored wine, dominated by Touriga Nacional, is rich, perfumed and dense. It has impressive tannins and rich blackberry fruit. The structure is concentrated, giving the wine power as well as a sense of style. This ripe wine is ready to drink.
Gloria Ferrer Pinot Noir 2014
The nose is greeted with intense deep black fruit, spice box and bramble. The mouth is full, silky and loaded with concentrated blackberry and black cherry spice and some forest floor. There is just enough sweet oak to support the fruit and the acidity is bright enough to hold it all together. The finish is full and long, bringing you back for another taste.
Château de Sours 2010 La Fleur d'Amélie (Bordeaux)
Attractive red fruits and soft tannins make this ripe, lightly structured wine easy to drink. There are hints of herbs and red berry fruits, with a touch of dryness on the finish.
Maison L'Envoye Morgon Cote du Py
Brooding aromas of dark berries with licorice and forest floor nuances. The palate is rich with blackberry and plum pudding flavors balanced by fresh acidity and a well-placed tannin backbone. The wine finishes as rich and layered as it begins. A serious yet versatile Côte du Py.
Vendemmia Masi Amarone Classico '13
This deep ruby-red wine has powerful, complex aromas of dried plums and balsamic (anise, fennel, mint) traces. Quite dry (not sweet) on the palate, soft and with bright acidity, the wine shows flavors of baked cherry, chocolate and cinnamon. Structured but noble, delicate tannins precede a long finish.
bootleg Prequel 2015
This is a luscious wine with supple tannins and a velvety, lingering finish. Aromas of lavender, blueberry and bacon smoke are followed by flavors of forest fruits, toasted oak and black pepper. Prequel, which released two years after Bootleg, tells the story of events preceding those pictured on Bootleg's label—a "Prequel" so to speak
